Your “Next Year”

When we said “Next Year” in Saturday Night Seder, we truly believed “Next Year.” Never would we have thought we might still be in lockdown, away from our families, alone... that so many of us might be in mourning. We spill our wine for them and for each other.

The plagues were unthinkably terrible.  Each one was an armageddon.  Only the past year could have given us a taste of how truly horrific they were. And at the same time: this spirit of “Next Year” is our character.  It’s who we are.

Every year we say “Next Year In Jerusalem”, which has become a metaphor for the liberation that we will eventually find - for ourselves and for each other.  It’s the light at the end of the tunnel.

So:  What is your version of “Next Year?”  Share a hope for yourself, for your loved ones, or for the world around you.  Or, post it and tag us at @SaturdayNightSeder. You might even get a repost...
